The Australian Bureau of Health Information was established in September
2009 as a major initiative of the Australian government's 'Caring Together:
The Health Action Plan for NSW' (http://healthactionplan.nsw.gov.au)
to provide an independent and transparent system of reporting the quality,
performance and effectiveness of NSW health services.
Independent reports will be available to the community and government, and
the bureau
will also provide doctors and nurses with information to enable them to compare
the performance of their services in providing quality care to their patients.
Health Minister Tony Ryall has given five District Health Boards notice to merge some of their Primary Health Organisations (PHOs) as he looks for savings in the health service with this year's budget predicted to have smaller than usual increases for health. Read the full article on Stuff.

of PRIMHD across
those NGOs contracted to provide mental health and addiction services.

of Health, Platform Trust, NGO providers from each of the four PRIMHD regional
governance groups, and the four PRIMHD Regional Co-ordinators)also forms part
of an ‘accountability loop’ back to the main PRIMHD project.
The Platform Trust is working with the Ministry of Health to promote the use and benefits of PRIMHD reporting for NGO providers. Platform is also working with the Regional Coordinators to implement PRIMHD.
An update on the current roll-out status for PRIMHD is available here.
